travel plans, yes!!!

with everything going on in boston, i haven't felt right to share my plans for 2013. now that things are starting to settle down, i would love to tell you guys that i will be volunteering with project abroad in sri lanka in october. i am beyond excited for this adventure because: 1. i have never been to sri lanka 2. i will be able to spend my vacation helping and playing with kids 3. i am going to SRI freaking LANKA!!! 4. i am working on having a 23 hour lay over in....DUBAI!! this year will be an exciting one, since i haven't really traveled since coming back from africa, i have the following trips planned: - spain, in sept or nov, my sister will be studying abroad in madrid and i cant wait to have vino and papas bravas with her in one of my favorite countries in the world. - bali/thailand, my good friend bbergh, will be celebrating her 30th there and i of course already bought my ticket..not really but in my head i am already there. - chicago, in august to see my little amanda tie the knot - south carolina, to see my little tiffany tie the knot - maybe london to visit a great friend studying abroad - miami, in june for some R&R i think that's it...for now. have a wonderful monday loves.

ohhhh hey!!

Where has the time gone? I have no clue..sorry about the lack of post but as you can see my new friend tori hooked a girl up!! Check out her blog its pretty freaking amazing …it is sort of awesome and I love her work! What is the easiest way to update you guys on the last couple of months…. Well my sister came in February and we had a blast, we hit up the lulu lemon warehouse sale, celebrated V’s birthday and she got to see NYC for the first time. March is my month since its my birth month and I had the most amazing birthday!! I had a great weekend and I was reminded how lucky I am, I love my friends. Here are some pictures (tomorrow) And can you tell me what it is snowing AGAIN in MARCH!! The end of March, I mean come on mother nature…I know I am from the Chi (holler) but come on!! The time has come it is Spring. Also on a music note..since I consider myself a music critic, the new JT album is pretty freaking fantastic! I love the song Mirrors, it has been on repeat since I downloaded the cd, by the way does that sound odd to anyone else? Downloaded versus bought a cd?? Anyway its been on repeat and I realized yesterday that the reason I love it is because I am a hopeless romantic. The line where he sings, it was easy coming back to you once I figured it out..you were right here all along.” One day..one day. I am also super excited because I have something in the works once I confirm the details I will share it on here…because it will blow my mind if it all goes through and I think it may blow your mind as well! i have been doing so much lately let me catch you up: i got the most amazing tree ever let me show you...see....pretty freaking amaze-balls if you ask me. here is a before and after picture. Happy

holy crap a month since i have written?? what am i doing? after dallas, that same friday i flew over to chicago, to see my little sister run her first marathon. she was amazing!!! i love her she is so stinking cute and she did it. I jumped in at mile 17 and ran with her till 25 then ran from there to mile 26 to document her getting to the finish. i felt so lucky that she let me jump in with her. i came back to nyc (thankfully) and have been hanging out in new york, going out with my girls and enjoying life, then well you know we got hit by hurricane sandy, which was super scary. thankfully we never lost power here in brooklyn, and i heard from so many friends (thank you). here are some pictures of my favorite moments.

this last one is on my block after sandy, it was really scary here. i was able to volunteer on friday, before they cancelled the marathon with team for kids. it was so hard telling so many runners that they were no longer able to run. sunday i volunteered at the armory in brooklyn.

this past weekend i was in dallas for the CHICAGO BEARS GAME, which we won by the way..here are some pictures enjoy..this friday i am off to chicago to see my sister run the marathon...see you on sunday nyc and i promise after this i will be here for a while.

i am truly blessed. i have some of the most amazing friends, ever. yep, i am truly a lucky lady!!

i love frank ocean. i love the way he sings. it reminds me of old school r&b, the good stuff. the stuff you can replay over and over and over. i have been jamming to his cd's for about a month. get on it if you aren't yet. you can thank me later this is just one of my favorite songs of his...just one. i really love them all.

if you haven't heard of frank ocean yet then clearly you have been living under a rock, here is his song dust, that i have had in consistent rotation for almost a week. the only issue with this song is that it reminded me of someone that i had not thought about in a long time. maybe its because his birthday is coming up or maybe its just because. no reason no need to call or email, he has just been on my mind.

thankfully the AC man came this a.m. at 8:30 and i was so happy to be here to let him in. he has one AC unit it and one to go...i can actually sit on my sofa. now i just have to get my cable box working and i will be back in action. in other news...have i told you about PARTYGIRLFIT? my girl Rupa a.k.a. mommas, rupie, or the mother to my godson Furious...you know this little ham right here. anyway check out her blog..she is HILARIOUS and she keeps it real. have a great weekend and if you are anywhere that it is over 95 degrees stay cool and drink lots of agua! and now i present to you....PARTYGIRLFIT:
