The race is over, the winners have declared. It was a tough contest and to be the first one always needs a bit of luck. We congratulate the winners and wish them joy with their prices. Keep on running!

We shall be immortalising the most impressive of these thoughts on the ASICS Marathon Site at the appropriate kilometre stages. What’s it like to be in the thronging start? At the 35 kilometre wall? When you finally see the finishing line appearing on the horizon? We have already received the first of your impressions ... throughout the course, enthusiastic runners have revealed how this Olympic distance really feels.
